Jesus meets the Women of Jerusalem
All the female voices sing this one, harmonising in fifths for that “eastern” feel.
Jesus Falls A Third Time
The whole chorus sings this as a two-part round. The round begins after the second solo refrain, which is sung by Jesus.
Jesus is Stripped of His Garments
All the male voices sing this one in unison. (Female voices might join in on the “All hail...” refrain if extra voices are needed.
Jesus is Laid in the Tomb
The whole chorus sings this, mostly in unison apart from the very last “It is over now” which is sung as a solo.
The Resurrection
All the male voices sing the first part of verse one. All the female voices sing the second part of verse one (The daughters of Jerusalem...)
The whole chorus sings the refrain (And now we're all free...). continuing to second verse together and second refrain, with harmonies where possible.
Unlike the recording, we actually sing - not hum - a repeat of verse two (“A Christ that would be crucified”), while Mary Magdalene’s counter melody is sung over the top.
After that we sing only the first phrase of the refrain: “And
now we’re all free!” then we hum the rest of the refrain while the narrators speak over the music.
As the narrative finishes we reprise the last part of the
refrain “ Living again etc…”.
